Montrose, Colorado

Involved with stream bed and stream flow improvement projects on the Gunnison, San Miguel and Uncompahgre Rivers in western Colorado for the past 7 years. Worked with BLM, FS, DOW & Excel Energy to modify the FERC license on Ames Hydro Plant to restrict winter operations and has prevented major ice flows on the San Miguel River. Current hydro projects GGA is involved with are the South Canal Gunnison Project and the Ridqway Reservoir Hydro Project – both will result in improvements to the local fisheries. One mile of new public access on Uncompahgre River and an Electronic Fish Barrier on the inlet to the Gunnison Tunnel were successes from the hydro projects.

The major project just completed was removal of large rock/steel dam structure on the Gunnison River downstream of Pleasure Park in the Gunnison NCA. Safety hazard, fish barrier, damage to riparian areas, annual rebuilding in the river – all were problems that were resolved with new structures. Major collaboration of 8 different organizations to accomplish this $3/4 million dollar project. Trout Unlimited was the project manager and facilitator for the fund raising.

Blake and Sarah Leggett

Blake and Sarah Leggett

After retiring from 4 years in the rotary-wing division of the United States Air Force, the company’s President/CEO Blake Leggett formed Leggett Tactical, a manufacturing company servicing a variety of military contracts. In 2008, Leggett, his wife Sarah, and his brother Bryce created and launched the consumer travel division, White Wing Label. The company’s exponential growth reassures the Leggetts that there is a demand for high-quality, Made in America products.

“The products we bring to the table for the White Wing Label collection are easy to design,” said Leggett. “We love to travel, we are life-long sportsmen, and we are business men and women. The greatest response we have had from customers come from their recognition that our designs meet all of their requirements in luggage. We use a number 8 Duck Cotton which offers the best strength-to-weight ratio that we’ve found. All fabrics are custom dyed to our specifications and cut and sewn in our manufacturing facility. Our full grain English Bridle leather is vegetable tanned with no chromium added. The tanning process is important as it creates the most durable and best-looking leather on the market. Fittings are solid brass, zippers are military grade YKK, and our thread is a 138-bonded nylon, which is twice as strong as the industry standard. Our grommets are forged from steel, then coated with a brass finish. Why you ask? Steel for strength and brass for curb appeal. Even our bag liners are made from 400 denier nylon for strength and durability. We overlook nothing, and ensure all materials are assembled into the final product with precision. The result is that your bag will look better with frequent use and withstand the test of time.”

For more information on White Wing Label please visit them on their website at WhiteWingLabel.com or at their manufacturing facility at Paint Rock Road in Eden, Texas. Follow them on Facebook at Facebook.com/WhiteWingLabel.

Craig Morgan

Craig Morgan

There is no one like him. Craig Morgan’s resume is one of the most varied and impressive on earth–soldier, sheriff’s deputy, EMT, adventurer, TV host, motocross racer, outdoorsman, farmer, family man. And then there is the career that ties it all together. “Music is like a center for all those things,” says the man known as one of country’s best singers and songwriters since “Almost Home” put him on the map in 2002. “It’s the outlet for me to express everything I am. When I’m riding my dirt bike, you may not know about my music, and when I’m in a military environment, it’s not the center point. But my music career allows me to talk about and be a part of all of those other energies in my life. When I’m on stage, I get to express all of it.”

So it’s no surprise that his new Black River Entertainment CD The Journey (Livin’ Hits), which includes eight of his top hits and four powerful new tracks, is as much autobiography as musical statement. “If you don’t know Craig Morgan,” he says, “you can listen to this album and see where I’ve been, where I’m at and where I’m going.” “Where I’ve been” constitutes one of the most familiar and respected careers in modern music. In addition to “Almost Home,” which brings pathos, compassion and nostalgia together into a classic country song, Craig’s catalog includes working-class anthems like “Redneck Yacht Club,” “International Harvester” and “More Trucks Than Cars”; real-life love songs like “Tough” and “This Ole Boy”; and one that hits on pretty much every theme Craig brings to the table–“Little Bit of Life.” Then there is “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” a six-week chart-topper whose love of American life in the biggest and smallest senses made it the most-played song of the year in 2005.

The Journey (Livin’ Hits) finds Craig again working with longtime friend and collaborator Phil O’Donnell, along with some of Nashville’s best musicians to introduce fans to four new songs that serve as windows on Craig’s past, present and future. He says, “You want to give people songs that have a hint of what they’ve come to expect from you, while at the same time allowing you to grow musically, and I think that’s what these new songs do, more so than anything I’ve ever recorded.” “Wake Up Lovin’ You” finds Craig using all the power and precision of that instantly recognizable voice to tell the story of an all-consuming memory; “If Not Me” is everything we’ve known Craig for–family, love, country and responsibility in a song gripping in its reality and drama; “Party Girl” is pure fun, celebrating the process of letting loose on the weekend; and “We’ll Come Back Around” talks about those on-the-edge moments that test the limits of great relationships, where even at the worst, both sides know love will win. Together, they show a fresh musical direction for Craig.

“There’s a new me,” he says. “Personally I’m the same, but musically I’m doing some new stuff. The music I’m singing now has an emotional quality that’s different from what I’ve done in the past, and I’m singing it from the viewpoint of someone who has lived the ups and the downs of these songs. With this record the fans will be able to see the fusion of the old and new and how they come together to make me who I am musically right now.” It’s just the latest chapter in a life and career rooted in Craig’s individuality, in his bedrock knowledge of who he is. “I’m an American country boy who loves his country, his family and his God,” he says, “and all of those things collectively dictate who I am. I have no idea what God holds in store for me, but what I do know is that every day I just get up and do my life. I don’t go to work to be a singer. I just go live my life, and part of that is being a singer.”

Craig was born in tiny Kingston Springs, Tennessee, the son of a bass-playing father whose work gave him behind-the-scenes views of classic country stars like Vern Gosdin, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, among many others. At ten, he sang the national anthem during a school field trip to Nashville in front of a crowd that included Minnie Pearl–who told him, “Son, someday you’re gonna be a famous singer.” An avid and lifelong outdoorsman, he began his career as an 18-year-old EMT. He then served ten years in the U.S. Army, where he traveled much of the world and took up performing and songwriting, winning military contests in both. He moved to Nashville after leaving the armed forces, and was employed as a contractor, a sheriff’s deputy and a Wal-Mart assistant dairy manager as he pursued music. He was singing demos when he was signed to his first label deal, thereby launching his hit-filled career.

Craig performs frequently for military audiences, both here and abroad (he has earned the U.S.O Merit Award), and is a frequent guest at the Grand Ole Opry. In fact, the two came together when he was invited to join the hallowed institution in 2008 during an appearance at Ft. Bragg, one of the places he’d been stationed during his military career. Craig’s widely varied but seamlessly integrated background adds believability no matter what subject matter he sings about–and it connects him with his audience in a way few others can claim. “When you’re talking about the people who come to my show,” he says, “well, I am those people. I’ve heard people say they’re a different person when they get on stage. I’m Craig Morgan all the time. The only difference between me on stage and me in the barn is that on stage I’m singing, and in the barn I’m feeding chickens or working on a tractor.”

All parts of his life come together on his television show, “Craig Morgan’s All Access Outdoors,” which is in its fourth season on the Outdoor Channel. Craig, who has four children, lives with his wife of 25 years, Karen, outside Dickson, Tennessee. He is involved in many of the area’s charitable causes and he keeps current with his emergency preparedness skills through activities like in-service training with the sheriff’s department. Ever the optimist, ever the achiever, he is as forward-looking as ever. “I do believe this next chapter in my life is going to be the best yet,” he says. “I started working toward this new direction with my last album, ‘This Ole Boy.’ That album hinted at the direction we’re taking now. This will take everything to the next level.’

‘I’m at a great place in my career,” he adds. “I’ve got the confidence that comes with longevity and with my association with a great label, Black River Entertainment. When I look in the mirror, I see the guy I’ve been, the guy who’s brought me here, but it’s amazing the energy and optimism I sense. I feel I can do more than I ever could.” With his latest release, he is proving just that to the world.

Join Bob and Craig as they discuss the singers career, Craig’s television show, and his passion for hunting and fishing.

Dean Capuano

Dean Capuano

Dean Capuano grew up in a world of hunting and fishing. From a very early age, he was fascinated with anything outdoors, but growing up on the East Coast, hunting and fishing was a way of life. From the time he was old enough to hold a fishing pole or shoot a gun, he was chasing game.

As he grew older, Dean’s love for the outdoors grew from something he did as a kid to a life-long obsession. Although there were necessary sidetracks along the way, such as college and becoming a National Hockey League draft pick of the Boston Bruins, hunting and fishing was the constant that always got him through the tough times.

After graduating college, Dean was lucky enough to land a job with Swarovski Optik and, for the past 12 years, he has handled the marketing for the high end optics manufacturer. Over the past decade, he has literally hunted the world. Although whitetails are his passion, he has chased all different types of game and has hunted on five continents.

To millions of music lovers, Ted Nugent has carved a permanent place in rock & roll history as the guitar-shredding showman, selling more than 40 million albums, performing more than 6,500 (!) high-octane concerts, and continuing to set attendance records at venues around the globe. To further millions, Nugent is the nation’s most outspoken proponent of our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, conducting thousands of pro-gun, pro-freedom, pro-America interviews in major media worldwide. He has served continuously on the Board of Directors of the NRA since his initial election in 1995, where he consistently sets records for amassing the highest number of votes received by an individual board member.

Nugent is dedicated to preserving our great outdoor heritage for future generations, and along with wife Shemane, regularly hosts hunts for sick and terminally ill children with Hunt of a Lifetime, Hunt for a Cure, and via his own Kamp for Kids. A recipient of myriad commendations from state police, sheriff departments, FBI and police agencies, Nugent has been lauded for his Freedom’s Angels Foundation benefitting our troops, along with work as a national spokesman for D.A.R.E., Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Pass It On Outdoor Mentors Program.

Nugent has been named favorite Hunting Personality by the readers of Outdoors Magazine. He was inducted into the National Bowhunters Hall of Fame, marking the pinnacle of recognition for Nugent as a bona fide Bowhunting Legend of the 21st Century, acknowledged for his skills as an outdoorsman, and for his tireless promotion of bowhunting via his writings for over 40 publications, his New York Times best-sellers Ted, White & Blue: The Nugent Manifesto and God, Guns and Rock ‘n’ Roll, along with Kill It and Grill It, BloodTrails and BloodTrails II, and his award-winning Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild television show—seen exclusively on Outdoor Channel–where he proudly serves as Ambassador for the network.

I’ve learned a tremendous amount from Alan Rose at the West London Shooting School and from Ken Davies from Holland and Holland. The kind of upland bird hunting that we do stateside is very different than the Brits, and so I’ve distilled a lot of their wisdom with my own experience. Aaron Negherbon

Aaron Negherbon

It started with a simple care package to a longtime friend, fellow USC Trojan and Marine Corps Captain deployed to one of the bloodiest regions of Afghanistan. His email of thanks not only expressed his gratitude but also the need for him to share the contents of my package with the 150 Marines under his command. It was then that I realized that there were thousands of service members on the front lines who were in desperate need of an ongoing supply of the essential staples that would keep them healthy, sharp, motivated…and alive.

So my quest began with the goal of giving our frontline service members anything and everything I could possibly muster. The difference however was that I wasn’t going to do it one soldier or Marine at a time in shoe box sized packages but rather at unprecedented levels. I would ship to entire units in bulk. For the uninitiated, that is upwards of 1000 service members that would be supported in a single shipment. Furthermore, I was going to take the guesswork out of the process and communicate directly with the front lines in order to ship items that they specifically needed and requested. With that, I reached out to my friends and to the corporate contacts that I’ve made through my near 20 years as a business executive. In a matter of days, support for this mission was received with the energy of a tsunami and TroopsDirect was born.

Soon after, the gauge for measuring TroopsDirect’s support went from ‘boxes and pounds’ to ‘pallets and tons’. In the following months, a (very) high ranking military official stated that TroopsDirect was a game changer for his units and that an organization such as TroopsDirect comes around once in a generation of our military. Another military leader stated that we were saving lives on a daily basis. Hearing those words, we knew we were doing something right.

Join Bob And Aaron as they discuss the great work that “Troops Direct” does for our military service members.

Carrie founded The Garden of Glass in 2006, an innovative company which has become a leader in recycled fire glass and landscape glass products. The Garden of Glass was featured on more than 20 HGTV and DIY Network TV shows.

As a firearm enthusiast, and certified handgun instructor, Carrie set her sights on opening and expanding the world of firearms to women, working to “demystify” the unnecessarily confusing and intimidating industry dominated by men.

With the number of women purchasing firearms for personal protection skyrocketing, the firearm industry has been slow to meet the unique and specific needs of female shooters. “My mission for the rest of my life is to help people, to convince people to never give up hope. I’ve been there. I was a junkie, I was into witchcraft, I nearly died in a car wreck. If I can overcome what I did through the power of God, then anyone can. I know a lot of secular people out there don’t want to hear it, but I’m sorry. I just don’t care. My brother turned his back on God and ended up committing suicide. He shot himself and I was devastated. I do a lot of public speaking because I know what it’s like to hit bottom and how to get out of it. I titled my autobiography Miracle on Luckie Street. When I landed in Atlanta, I was at the intersection of Luckie and Fairlie Streets. Fairly lucky? That’s me, but only through the love of Jesus Christ.”
